Caravela level 0 data. The raw data files have been compiled into .csv files. At this stage, data flagging has not been carried out. Scripts to produce these files from raw data can be found on Github at ESiddle/Eurec4a-Analysis-scripts-AERIS Contact E.Siddle@uea.ac.uk or K.Heywood@uea.ac.uk CARAVELA_CTD.csv Measured with a Valeport miniCTD fixed through Caravela's hull, approximately 20cm below sea surface. The sensor transmits data at 1Hz. -dt_iso [UTC]: Isoformat datetime from Caravela's payload PC in UTC -Pressure [dbar]: Water pressure measurement in dbar. Not corrected for surface pressure. Resolution 0.001 % range, accuracy ±0.05 % range. -Temp[C]: Measured water temperature in °C. Resolution 0.001 °C, accuracy ±0.01 °C. -Conductivity[mS/cm]: Measured conductivity in mS cm-1. Resolution 0.001 mS cm-1, accuracy ±0.01 mS cm-1 CARAVELA_SL510.csv Downwelling longwave radiation measured with an upwards-facing Apogee SL-510-SS Pyrgeometer, sampled at 1Hz using an analog to digital converter (ICP 7017-10). The raw data is converted to W m-2 by the SL-510 driver. Data reported to 3 decimal places. -SL-510-SS[W m-2]: downwelling longwave radiation in W m-2 -datetime [UTC]: Isoformat datetime in UTC from Caravela's payload PC. CARAVELA_SP110.csv Downwelling shortwave radiation measured with an Apogee SP-110-SS Pyranometer, sampled at 1Hz using an analog to digital converter (ICP 7017-10). The raw data is converted to W m-2 by the SP-110-SS driver. Data reported to 3 decimal places. -SP-110-SS [W m-2] downwelling shortwave radiation in Wm-2. -datetime [UTC]: Isoformat datetime in UTC from Caravela's payload PC. CARAVELA_Wind.csv Wind speed and direction measured by an Airmar 120WX. This data has not been corrected for Caravela's motion. -wind_speed: magnitude of wind speed measured relative to Caravela's motion in knots. -wind_angle: Angle in degrees clockwise from Caravelas heading. Resolution: 0.1° -datetime [UTC]: datetime in UTC from Caravela's PCS CARAVELA_Motion.csv Heading, pitch, roll and position data from Caravela. The first 8 lines of the file contain 0.0 due to missing data. Heading, pitch and roll are all reported with 0.1 degree precision. We are aware of issues with the latitude_hemisphere and longitude_hemisphere data, as well as anomalous gps values. We will address these in the level 1 data. -datetime [UTC]: datetime in UTC from Caravela's PCS -Heading: direction bow is pointing in degrees clockwise from true north. -Pitch: pitch of vessel in degrees where a positive value represents bow above horizontal(0) -Roll: roll of vessel in degrees where a positive value is roll in the clockwise diection -Latitude: vessel latitude in xxyy.yyyyy where xx is degrees and yy.yyyyy is decimal minutes -Latitude_hemisphere: Specifies the hemisphere of measurement. We expect to see N in this dataset -Longitude: vessel longitude in xxyy.yyyyy where xx is degrees and yy.yyyyy is decimal minutes -Longitude_hemisphere. Specifies the hemisphere of longitude measurement. We expect to see W in this dataset. CARAVELA_Hygroclip.csv Meterological measurements from the Hygroclip_HC2A-S3 probe on Caravela's mast. Measurement height approx 1m above water. -Humidity: %RH. Accuracy @ 23 °C ±0.8 %RH -Temp: Air temperature in °C. Accuracy @ 23 °C ±0.1 K -datetime_UTC: isoformat date and time in UTC Caravela_Airmar.csv Airmar 120WX is on Caravela's mast approx 1.5 m above sea surface. -datetime[UTC]: isoformat date and time in UTC -pressure[bar]: Measured barometric pressure in bar. -air_temp[C]: measured air temperature in °C. Accuracy: ±1.1°C at 20°C,Resolution: 0.1°C ACDP directory We do not currently have the capacity to process the ADCP data, so the raw .SigVM files have been included here.
